Literally,
MILLING BY THE MILE, PRECISION SHAPES, INC's continuous milling
is a process in which standard available bars or extrusions
are milled to special cross sections in mill lengths of 6',
12', 20' and even 50' and longer. Many of the rigid machined
bars are used in their long length, while others are cut to
shorter lengths, and where needed, "Secondary" operations
are performed (see below). The raw material may be comprised
of conventional bar shapes, or special shapes of extruded, rolled
or drawn material to which PRECISION SHAPES, INC'S process adds
or refines details or tolerances not available in other processes.
Wire and strip stock may be milled in coil length. This process
has a unique advantage in its ability to machine shapes in materials
and sizes which do not lend themselves to being suitably held
for conventional machining procedures.
In
addition to our specialty process, PRECISION SHAPES, INC. performs
CNC machining with our 5 vertical machining centers, as well
as "secondary" operations such as cut off, drilling
/ threading, grinding, honing etc. We have a full line of conventional
machines to meet your exact specifications, and light assembly
and finishes can be provided with the completed parts, whether
done in house or contracted to your, or our, approved suppliers.
PRECISION
SHAPES, INC. regularly machines such metals as aluminum, copper,
brass, carbon, alloy & stainless steel and the "special-alloys"-
titanium, monel, inconel, as well as plastics, fibre and laminated
materials.
